In 1993 whilst living in Europe, I was enjoying a weekend break to Krakow, Poland when I found myself being drawn to the stalls of the bustling amber market in the centre of town. I was mesmerized with the beauty of these stones and could not resist making a purchase. This was the beginning of my journey with amber, and I have been captivated with it ever since.

I made South Africa my home two years later however never lost my passion for Baltic amber, particularly when it was combined with silver. 25 years later I returned to Poland and met with a number of suppliers in Gdansk, who specialise in hand-made jewellery. I now import individually selected pieces for sale within South Africa, always ensuring that the focus is on the elegance of the actual stone(s). - Lesley Cox
